Course Description   Course Map
All runners start at Negro Bar State Park and run on scenic, single-track north Lake Natoma trails, some double-track and a short distance of gravel road.  The short course runners will run a single loop course from the start before heading up and over the bluffs overlooking Lake Natoma where they will make a loop and head back toward the finish line.  Long Course runners will continue from the bluffs on the fairly flat and beautiful tree-lined, single-track trails toward the Shadow Glen Horse Stables where they will hit the aid station at Sunset and Main before heading back toward Negro Bar.

Negro Bar State Park is located off Greenback Lane in Folsom, between Folsom-Auburn Road and American River Canyon Drive.  There is a $10 park entrance fee per vehicle charge or you may purchase an annual California State Parks Poppy Pass park for $90 (a real bargain).

Many trails are located within the California State Parks. If you do not have one, I highly recommend purchasing a Poppy Pass for $90/year (from date of purchase). California State Parks Pass info This pass is valid at 97 parks in the State of California where an entry fee is collected.  You can usually purchase your park pass at most park pay stations, most any state park office, including the Gold Fields District Office, 7806 Folsom-Auburn Rd, Folsom and the Auburn Recreation Area office on Hwy 49 about 1/2 mile into the canyon from Auburn.

Let's keep our parks clean!  If you drop it, pick it up.  Please do not drop your waste on the trail and expect someone else to pick it up.  Reduce aid station waste - carry a water bottle.   Thank you!
