The Folsom Lake Trail Run series is for everyone...so, whether you are new to trail running or the experienced ultra runner looking for a great training run, come out and have fun
running on the fun and challenging trails surrounding Beal's Point at Folsom Lake.

What's New?

  • Aug 28th race will be hot! - Tonight's race temperature will be hot!!  Be sure to hydrate well today We will provide plenty of ice water and sports/electrolyte replacement drink at the aid station as well as bananas at the start/finish site.

Tonight's course will be the same as last week for the short/3mi course.  Due to the high temperature, we have decided that for the safety of the long course runners (6mi), they will be running a double 3mi loop.  This will provide the benefit of passing the aid station four times and the option of re-hydrating as you pass through the start/finish site as you set out for the second lap.

If the temperature tonight at race start is 100+, you will earn double points!!

Both courses will vary a bit from the Spring series...adding a climb up to the water tank on the 6 mi loop.   The reward...an amazing view of Folsom Lake!!  A great training course for Xterra events.

Walkers may participate in the short course event.  Due to limited daylight, walking the long course is not allowed...sorry.

You will encounter - dirt, rocks, tree roots, sand, sweat, great views, serenity, nature's beauty, smiles, runners having a great time...!!

DIRECTIONS
Beal's Point on Folsom lake is located off of Folsom-Auburn Road approximately 2 miles south of Douglas Blvd.  From I-80, take Douglas Blvd East, and turn right onto Folsom-Auburn Road.  Turn left into Beal's Point.  From I-50, take Folsom Blvd (towards Folsom).  Folsom Blvd turns into Folsom-Auburn Road - drive past Folsom Dam Road and turn right into Beal's Point.  There is a $7 park entrance fee per vehicle charge or you may purchase an annual park pass for $90.   Remember that this fee is your donation to improving our state parks, including the trails we run on.

Another option is to park at Cavitt School (no parking fee) and ride your mountain bike about 1.5 miles to Beal's Point a short distance on easy trails (from the back of Cavitt School) then down the levee road to Beal's Point...or jog it for a warm up.

Carpool!  Save money and the environment!
